Customer FAQ
You can begin preparing your garden as soon as the soil is workable—typically from late February to early April, depending on the weather. Start by improving your soil with compost or soil conditioner, followed by planting or sowing when conditions warm up.
Yes. Alsoils+ compost is ideal for spring use around new plants, vegetables, and bedding. It provides slow-release nutrients and improves soil fertility. For very young seedlings, mix compost into existing soil rather than planting directly into pure compost.
Spring is an ideal time to patch bare spots or reseed tired grass. Use a Lawn Repair Mix or rootzone product to create an even, nutrient-rich base. Seed germinates well in mild temperatures, especially with regular watering and good soil contact.
Yes, as long as it’s well-rotted. Alsoils+ manure is fully composted and safe to use in spring. Dig it into vegetable beds or borders a few weeks before planting to enrich the soil and support early growth.
Mulching in spring helps trap moisture in the soil, suppress early weed growth, and regulate soil temperature as plants begin to grow. Bark mulch is especially effective when applied after rain or watering to lock in moisture and keep beds looking tidy.
