Winter Manure FAQs

What is Winter Manure made from?

Our Winter Manure is well-rotted farmyard manure that has been composted over time to ensure it’s stable, easy to use, and rich in organic nutrients. It’s free from peat and safe for use across gardens and allotments.

When should I apply Winter Manure?

Autumn and winter are ideal times to apply manure. It gives the material time to break down further, condition the soil, and release nutrients before spring planting begins.

Is Winter Manure safe for vegetable gardens?

Yes, it’s perfect for use on vegetable beds and allotments. Because it’s well-rotted, it won’t scorch young plants and is suitable for food-growing areas when used as part of your soil prep.

How do I use Winter Manure in the garden?

Spread a thick layer over empty beds and dig it in, or leave it on the surface as a mulch—both methods will improve soil quality. For new beds or allotments, work it into the top 15–30cm of soil.

How much area does one bulk bag cover?

One 0.75m³ bulk bag covers approximately 10–12m² at a depth of 5–7.5cm. For heavy soil improvement or allotment prep, consider a deeper layer or multiple bags depending on your plot size.
