The Importance of a Quality Topsoil
Plants generally concentrate their roots in the top 2 to 8 inches of soil. This soil
has a high concentration of micro-organisms, organic matter and where most of the nutrients can be found to provide the plant
with the best possible conditions to survive.
At Alsoils we ensure that all our soil has been screened to the highest standards so that all the large stones and root matter are taken out.
We only screen clean uncontaminated soil, this means that our soil hasn't been reclaimed from skip waste, which often contains large
amounts of glass, plastic and hardcore!
All our soil is to the British Standard BS 3882. Once our soil has been screened it is stored in buildings. This prevents the soil becoming wet
but also prevents airborne particles being blown into it, which avoids contamination.
